Network Operational Risk Manager (n-ORM)

Network Operational Risk Manager (n-ORM) combines four distinct functionalities into a consolidated tool to enable any business to measure and generate a cyber financial value at risk for the interconnectivity between corporate networks and the internet.

CyberEx Academy uses n-ORM to simulate how a cyber risk manager can calculate an organization’s financial cyber threat exposure in an easy to understand and simple to use manner.

It enables participants understand which business processes are the most vulnerable and have the highest loss impact upon your organization.

By viewing the historical trend of cyber threat risk exposure using the graphical output or tables illustrates to our participants the cyber risk management maturity for an organization.

Utilizing the risk mitigation calculation engine, they calculate the ROI for each risk mitigation action available to your company and identifies the optimal capital expenditure allocation for cyber risk management.

This facilitates the creation of pro-active strategies by your team for managing cyber threat value-at-risk into future time periods.

Additionally, non-technological and cyber impacts upon business processes from occurrences such as power outages, fire, floods, and insider attacks are also modelled within the training programme.

n-ORM utilises actual cyber threat data through traffic capture, packet analysis, process mapping, and an algorithmic engine within a single interface for ease of understanding for participants. This enables our training to fit to various personnel profiles, whether for senior management, risk management and/or business continuity teams, audit and compliance units.

Configuration is divided into automated determinants, but also with manual inputs from the participants, to derive a cyber threat financial value-at-risk. The ability of the application to import previous scenarios, multiple business process maps and handle multiple languages results in a quick and efficient method of simulating different options within the training session.

n-ORM also benefits from the “what-if” functionality for capital budgeting and cost-benefit analysis of independent risk management mitigation actions. This component of the application delivers an easy to understand, visual representation of how a cyber threat value-at-risk exposure may be reduced by single or consecutive mitigation actions until the desired cyber threat value at risk for your organization is achieved.

Each programme participant will gain, through experiential learning by undertaking cyber risk management with CyCalc, insight into the methods, processes and globally accepted risk management practices for digital threats. Following the course, they will be in a position to apply their learning within their everyday roles.
